Policies

A full set of policies can be found at Preschool.

Here is a brief explanation of our main polices:

Admissions

Preschool is open to the whole community and places are allocated in birth order rather than on a first come first served. In the event of over-subscription, priority will be given to children who are expected to continue on to All Saints Primary school and/or live in the Highcliffe area.

Staff policy

We have a minimum of 1 member of staff for every 4 children under 3 and 8 children over 3. All staff supervisors hold a minimum of an NVQ3 and other relevant qualifications. All staff are expected to attend regular training throughout the year.

All staff have provided 2 satisfactory references prior to being employed and are subject to a DBS check.

Child protection

Every child has the right to be protected from abuse. Your child will be attending an OFSTED registered preschool and we have a legal duty under the 1989 Children’s Act to report any concerns to Children’s Services. We will also keep records of all concerns about issues of neglect or emotional abuse to build up a pattern over time.

Mobile phone use and social networking

Mobile phones are not permitted to be used at preschool. Please do not put anything on social networking sites about other children at preschool without their parents’ permission.

Parental Complaints

If you wish to make a complaint about any aspect of preschool you can either make a formal complaint to the Manager, preschool committee chair  or report concerns to OFSTED on 0300 123 1231 or write to them at:

OFSTED

Piccadilly Gate

Store Street

Manchester

M1 2WD.

You can also make an informal complaint to staff. We would encourage you to do this as most of the time things can be sorted out.

If you have a child protection concern please contact Services for Young Children on 01962 813887 or email childcare.hants.gov.uk

Aggressive behaviour

We have a zero tolerance policy on any parent or carer using violent or intimidating behaviour towards staff, committee members or other parents. We will always call the police and press charges.
